Your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and how to use them.
If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR give you rights over your personal data. This page explains those rights and how to use them with MapNinja. It complements our Privacy Policy.

A note on how little we hold
By design, your tracked progress and preferences are stored locally in your browser. That data stays on your device and is not personal data we hold about you - so for most visitors there is very little for us to access or erase on the server side.
Your rights
- Access - obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification - have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure - ask us to delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction - ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability - receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Object - object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent - where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time.
How to exercise your rights
Email [email protected] describing your request. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within one month, which can be extended by up to two further months for complex requests; we’ll tell you if so. Exercising these rights is free unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Complaints
You can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); in the EEA it is your national data protection authority. We’d appreciate the chance to resolve concerns first, so please contact us.
International transfers
Where we transfer personal data outside the UK/EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
